Home › When to ask for a Google review
Short answer: Ask soon after the job is finished and paid. If you invoice customers, the moment the invoice is paid in full is a reliable trigger: the work is done, accepted and settled. Wait a day or two, ask once, and don't ask the same customer again for a few months.
| If you… | Consider a delay of |
|---|---|
| Finish the job on site and get paid the same day (e.g. plumbing, cleaning) | 0–2 days |
| Deliver a product the customer uses later (e.g. print & embroidery) | 2–7 days |
| Bill monthly or on net terms (e.g. agencies, IT/MSP, accountants) | 2 days, with a 90-day cooldown so monthly invoices don't repeat the ask |
These are starting points, not measured results. Adjust to how your customers experience the work.

Soon after the work is finished and accepted. For businesses that invoice, a paid-in-full invoice is a clear, objective signal of that.
A short delay of a day or two gives the customer time to use what they paid for. InvoiceStars uses 2 days by default and lets you choose 0 to 30 days.
No. A deposit means the work is not finished. Wait until the invoice is paid in full.
Limit repeat asks. InvoiceStars asks each customer at most once every 90 days.
Yes. It asks every paid customer, offers no incentives, and does not filter out unhappy customers.
